I still remember the day, back in High School, Brendan told me what college he was going to. He was standing by his locker, I was passing by after photo class, and it went something like this:
"I decided where I'm going to school."
"Me, too! Where are you going?"
"CNU. Where are you going?"
"CNU."
We both laughed a bit, thinking it was funny that two kids from a small town would end up at the same school so far away. I still think it's funny: Brendan is the person I have been in school with the most. We went to the same elementary, middle, high school, and college. Maybe even the same pre-school.
Friends like him stay in your life forever, and it's really so incredible because you get to see how the whole story unfolds. I've been around for the development of "Brenna," getting to witness Brendan marry his amazing wife and now: the joy of watching them welcome their beautiful little girl. And, through all these transitions, Brendan and Jenna have approached it like the team that they are. With laughter and love, it's easy to see that the joy in this household runs deep.
