It's pretty impossible not to know when you're in a room filled with people who know each other well. Mostly because you have very little context to understand any bit of what they're saying; yet, they all seem to "get it," playing joke after joke. That's what it was like being around Ryan and his guys. And, I didn't need to understand what they were saying to appreciate it. It's fun being around people who are having fun. It's enjoyable to be around people who enjoy each other.
Ryan's Dad said that Ryan would invite college friends over his house and, over time, it became apparent that Ryan was in love with one in particular. Claire. And, the summer after graduation, they were saying that out loud. Two things I would say of them: they have fun, and enjoy being around each other. It was pretty impossible not to know.
